  • These berth serve vessels of up to (70,000) tons displacement with a draft of up to 14.4 meters

Main Port Facts

  • Each berth has a (35) meter wide apron, a transit shed, a semi-covered shed and open storage areas
  • Berth No. 1 is devoted for handling the imported grain and equipped with three grain discharging units of total capacity about (1,000) tons per hour into the nearby grain silos
  • Phosphate Berth A: (220) meters in length, (11) meter draft, receives vessels up to (25,000) tons displacement with a loading rate of (1,000) tons per hour
  • Phosphate Berth B: (180) meters in length, (14.4) meter draft, receives vessels up to (125,000) tons displacement, equipped with two ship loaders of (2,200) ton / hour / each
